In 2014, Nike Indonesia launched its FC247 series, a collection of soccer shoes aimed at small-pitch games. To help raise awareness of their new collection, Nike approached Studio1212 to assist them in creating a high-profile futsal tournament christened ‘Tempat Main Gue’. Our main objective was to create the campaign identity, engaging local street artists as well as organizing the media event.
Tempat Main Gue revolves around a five-a-side tournament that involves high-school soccer teams from the five boroughs of Jakarta. In order to strengthen one of the main messages of the tournament, which is to establish a sense of camaraderie within each of the metropolitan areas of Jakarta, we helped pick local urban artists from each borough to create artwork that represents their local team. The tournament lasted for 3 weeks and Nike invited the KNVB (The Dutch Football Association) to present the prize to the winner of the tournament.
Studio 1212 was also responsible for organizing the media event before the tournament. Held at Dia.Lo.Gue artspace, the event showcased the Nike FC247 collection as well as providing top-to-bottom information on all things related to the tournament. Additionally, we created all the collateral used for the media event as well as the tournament, from the brochures and media-kits to the medals and placards provided to the tournaments’ winners.
