Joyland Festival is a music and arts festival from Indonesia that brings together artists across various creative fields—held twice a year in Jakarta and Bali. The event spans three days of live music, comedy, film, workshops, and other multisensory activities designed for audiences of all ages, including young families. With each edition, the festival aims to feel fresh by introducing a new visual identity while maintaining its core brand essence. For its Jakarta 2023 event, Studio 1212 developed key visuals and graphic elements that emphasized the festival’s commitment to sustainability and its connection to the natural environment of its venues—while also capturing the joy that defines the festival experience.

Illustrative graphics take center stage in the key visual for Joyland Jakarta 2023. Semi-anthropomorphic animals and plants serve as the main visual elements, symbolizing Joyland Festival’s relationship with surrounding ecosystems and its respect for both nature and people. These illustrations represent the five core aspects of the festival—music, cinema, workshops, kids’ activities, and comedy—and are designed to be modular, allowing for unique combinations. While the brand’s typeface is retained, it’s arranged organically to blend seamlessly with the illustrations, creating a cohesive relationship between typography and imagery. The Jakarta 2023 palette consists of 12 brand colors used sparingly—no more than four in any single layout—balancing the dynamic graphics with a clean, youthful aesthetic. This key visual served as the foundation for all visual materials for the Jakarta 2023 edition, including social media content, lineup posters, event collateral, and merchandise.
