PT Merpati Wahana Raya (MWR) is an Indonesian company that manufactures and procures military and surveillance products, including a variety of locally-made special equipment. As part of Indonesia’s defence industry, MWR regularly participates in the Indo Defence Expo & Forum, a biennial tri-service defence technology and sales exhibition hosted by the Indonesian Ministry of Defence. In 2025, MWR positions its technology and solutions as the forefront defence amid Indonesia’s natural disaster landscape, bridging heritage and innovation for disaster resilience. To emphasize this message, Studio 1212 transformed the brand’s presentation into a museum that honors Indonesia’s relationship with natural disasters, acknowledging them as an integral element of the nation’s identity.

Storytelling became the focal point of MWR’s presence at the event, starting primarily from the massive back wall that captures attention with a strong headline even from afar. Below that headline, a panoramic video portrays the beauty of Indonesia as it foreshadows three common natural disasters in the archipelago: volcanoes, ring of fire and megathrust, and tsunami and floods. Below those videos lies the long main table that juxtaposes the beauty of the video by chronicling each disaster and showing how MWR products serve as solutions in each scenario through infographics, product models and 3-dimensional imagery. On the left-hand corner, a corner wall display showcases various actual products sourced from international partners in greater detail—including their roles in times of disasters. Meanwhile, the opposite end of the booth features MWR’s latest product, a compact 6×6 vehicle chassis, in a life-sized 3D model to give visitors an accurate understanding of the new product. Finally, should the visitors have more interest and further enquiries on the brand or products, a versatile seating area is provided at the centre of the booth—where they have a chance to engage directly with the brand and find out more about it.
