Joyland Festival, a renowned music and arts event loved by fans and families, invited Whiteboard Journal to create a zine for the 2024 Jakarta Festival. In collaboration with Studio 1212, a zine centered on the theme ‘Coming of Age’ was crafted. Exploring the journey of growing up, the zine shares experiences which are deeply personal yet relatable – connecting people of all ages; reflecting the festival’s welcoming spirit. Several performers of the festival also contributed to the zine, with other performers later noticing and even signing it.

Its design approach takes in an intentionally messy direction, echoing the complicated and chaotic process of growing up. In its visual language, the zine explores ASCII art as a medium of digital illustration; resonating with younger generations’ modernity.
